Looks like Matawan voters are still angry at the Republicans for poor leadership and bad decisions over the Train Station Development plan. Residents want progress, not law suits that stall it.

Whoo-hoo! Metropark here we come!
Bumper to bumper traffic and fumes - now that's what I call progress!

Why don't you take a look at Matawan in the county master plan. The Republicans have the Train Station zoned for an 8 story building allowance. EIGHT. The former Republican Council hired a developer to come up with a design for our new Transit Village and then said oops, that doesn't reflect Matawan. Sorry, I don't buy it, the process doesn't work that way. That means one of two things happened: a) The Republicans had a specific criteria of what they wanted for our Transit Village redevelopment, and the conceptual design reflected that. or b) The Republicans told the developers that it's a "blue sky" project, design what ever you want.

Since it's highly doubtful the Republicans gave the developers a blue sky project, it means that they should have made some revisions and gone back to the drawing board. A little costly, but that's what happens when you enter a project not being clear on the outcome you want. And by the way, there should have been a public poll on what the community wants out of a new development. It's absolutely neccessary, we're the one's that make it succeed or fail. It's all called design process. That means you talk to your project partner, Aberdeen, and build solid objectives that will BEST GIVE BACK to the community rather than build a transit village for commuters. It's called being a team. Instead, The Republicans bailed on the project and threw our town into litigation.

Metropark? You need to do your homework, that's the Republican outlook. Republicans want to stop city commuters after a long day to eat and go shopping?? They need to open their eye's, there's 25,000+ of us that live in these 2 towns that want to do the same thing!

Seems to me that after 20 to 30 years of rule by the Republicans in Matawan, give or take a year or two, residents are fed up. Give the Democrats two years, you can bet on some progress. They have no choice, or they will be voted out too! If I were Buragina and Buccellato (or is it George Bush), I'd be very worried next year. The house cleaning is almost complete.

anonymous thinks he knows the answers, but he know nothing about the Train Station Project.

It was the Aberdeen Developer, from what Robin, Fred and Gary told me, that wanted to build several parking decks and then try to sell the tops to build a hotel, offices, apartments, etc. Seven or eight parking buildings for over 12,000 cars. Now talk about fumes and traffic.

Let's see what the great and powerly Wizard and his sidekick loose Cannon do. Their mentor Vic has already stolen the Motor Vehicle Department for his Airport Plaza. What's really coming to Matawan?

Well bye, bye it's back to Sirius Radio.
